Paul Winter, Chief Executive, Ipswich Building Society, BITC regional award runner-up

PAUL WINTER’S career with Ipswich Building Society began in 1982, as Assistant General Manager. He was appointed to the Board in 1991 and held the position of Sales and Marketing Director before becoming Chief Executive in 2007. Since then the Society has bucked the trend by opening new branches and consistently growing its mortgage book.

In addition to his role at Ipswich Building Society, Paul is the Chairman of the Suffolk Institute of Directors and sits on the MP and Business Liaison Board for Suffolk. He is also a member of the Building Societies Association Council.

Born in Derbyshire, Paul is a keen runner, gardener and a life-long supporter of Derby County. As Chair of the Staying Healthy at Work Employer Champions Group, Paul feels passionately about employers promoting a good work/life balance, and ensuring all employees are able to achieve their true potential.
