The Staying Healthy at Work Employer Network

Why join the network?

Why tackle the issues alone? By joining the Staying Healthy at Work Employer Network you will have access to businesses big and small in the east of England who are facing similar challenges and coming up with solutions to improving the health of their staff and of their business.

To become part of the network we are asking employers to sign up to a framework to demonstrate that your organisation is committed to taking action on health and wellbeing.

Framework For Action

Members commit to:

Take a proactive approach to promoting health behaviours

For example, making healthy choices available in meetings, promoting cycling to work, communicating information on the support available

Support staff with health challenges to remain at or return to work wherever possible

For example, consider all reasonable requests for flexible working, help staff to understand that work can be good for health

Work individually and collaboratively to develop, apply and share best practice

For example, share your experiences through case studies and networking, promote the importance of health and wellbeing to your supply chain

Set targets, track progress and report

For example, use your website to publicise your progress, report to Staying Healthy at Work on an annual basis

Build and integrate awareness of physical and mental health and wellbeing across the organisation

For example, review progress at a senior level, understand and communicate how employee health and wellbeing contributes to business success

We’ve given you just some examples of how you might put the framework into action, but it is up to each employer to implement it in the way that is most useful and relevant.
